SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) _ Funeral arrangements are pending for the three children killed in a weekend house fire that left a community in mourning just before Christmas.
Dozens of people gathered Sunday for a vigil at the charred remains of the home near Brookings and North Main Avenue. Meisha Howard, the children's babysitter, tells KDLT that she was still in disbelief and shock.
A fund has been set up to help the victims of the family. Donations can be dropped off at Celebrate Church on South Sycamore in Sioux Falls.
The Argus Leader reports that the children's parents, Rhiannon and David White, escaped the blaze through a window.
The bodies of 16-year-old Michael Hensley, 12-year-old Savannah Coon and 6-year-old Alivia Coon were discovered by firefighters in a room on the second floor.
