The United Way of the Black Hills is $128,120 from its goal. The organization hopes to raise $2,295,000 by the end of the 2012 campaign on December 31, 2012.
Since the campaign launched in September, United Way has raised $2.1 million to support local programs for basic human needs, counseling and advocacy, domestic violence, child abuse, youth programs, senior services, and life skills and education.
"Our agencies help everyone, from children to seniors and serve nearly every sector of our community," said Renee Parker, Executive Director of United Way.
If the remaining $128k isn't raised, it could create complications, including cuts to agencies.
"Our agencies rely on us each year, and we want to continue to give them the support they need and deserve," said Parker.
For the past 20 years, the United Way goal has been met to provide assistance to many local non-profits. "This year has been tough and knowing the tremendous needs that exist, I am hopeful that once again, people throughout the Black Hills area will support United Way. Every donation, large or small, makes a big difference."
