Veteran Affairs Secretary declines meeting with South Dakota law makers

Posted:

For more than a year one KOTA Territory community has fought to keep their local veteran's administration in full operation.

And now Veteran Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki has declined to meet with U.S. Senators and South Dakota Representatives to discuss the matter.

U.S. Senators Tim Johnson and John Thune and Representative Kristi Noem have announced that Shinseki has declined a meeting with them and the Save the VA Committee of Hot Springs. Instead he invited members of Save the VA to meet with an undersecretary in Washington D.C.

All three law makers say they are disappointed with the secretary's response and hope that he reconsiders.
