The Rapid City Police Department, Pennington County Sheriff's Office, and Rapid City School officials continue to work together to investigate a rumored threat of school violence at Stevens High School.
According to a news release from the RCPD, a team of detectives has been aggressively investigating all leads and information from the public. However, at this point, there is no evidence of a specific threat and no direct threats have been received by the school district.
Most of the information reported to law enforcement has been circulating as non-specific rumors on social media, and none of this information has been substantiated.
Full-time school liaison officers continue to be stationed at every public middle and high school, and additional officers will provide security at public elementary schools.
