A Rapid City woman has been decking the halls and spreading Christmas cheer in her community for more than 60 years.
It usually takes two weeks to get all the holiday decorations in place at Eleanor Bruns' West Main Street home. The 97–year-old says she couldn't do it alone, which is why her son travels from Colorado to help decorate the exterior and the interior.
Bruns' Christmas assortment includes figurines of Mrs. and Mr. Claus, snowmen, merry–go –rounds and more. The senior citizen says she has enough decorations to fill half her garage.
"I got Santa Claus, everything you can think about," said Bruns. "But we kind of scaled back quite a bit this year."
Bruns says the Christmas holiday is near-and-dear to her because she gets to spend quality time with her family.
