We have an update on the purposed President's Plaza in downtown Rapid City.
Dream Design International is still working to secure New Market Tax Credits that are a major source of funding for the project.
Hani Shafai says they have amended some dates in the agreement with the contractor, so construction may begin as soon as those tax credits are secured.
Shafai says there are many components to the project that need to come together for the project to be a success.
"It's the typical process, things take time and they have to go through the process and going through the right ways is better than having to rush it and do something that is not really what the community deserves," says Shafai.
There have been other KOTA Territory projects that used the New Market Tax Credits successfully, such as the Rockyford Elementary School project in Shannon County. The school is now open and running.
