A local charity in Rapid City received a huge contribution Wednesday, and it will go to help children.
Rapid City Regional Health handed over a $4,500 check to Starting Strong.
The program helps children of low income families with money to go to pre-school so they are more likely to excel once they reach kindergarten.
Co-chair of the organization, Tim Raben says their goal is $300,000 dollars. "It's very important, the $4,500 dollars that Regional Health has donated today will make a huge contribution in our effort to raise that money."
Including Wednesday's contribution, Raben says Starting Strong supporters have already raised more than $255,000.
