Rapid City restaurant closes its doors for renovations

New owners means a new look for a downtown Rapid City restaurant.

Manchego closed its doors Sunday to begin renovations.

Firehouse Brewing Company managing partner and Manchego's new owner Bob Fuchs says the restaurant will open again on April 1st 2013 with a new look and a new name.

He says he is working with a number of consultants during the planning process and wants to make sure the new place will be something Rapid City will be proud of. "We've had great luck here in Rapid City with the Firehouse Brewing Company and the Wobbly Bobby and having a third spot down on the corner of Manchego is going to be super," said Fuchs. "And having another beer garden and patio area is going to just really enhance the downtown area which is already doing so tremendously."

Fuchs says right now they are leaning towards keeping the venue a Mexican restaurant, but that could change.
