The trial of a Pennington county State's Attorney accused of stealing the affections of another man's wife continued Tuesday.
Doug Rumpca filed a civil lawsuit against Glenn Brenner that alleges the state's attorney "alienated" Rumpca's former wife's affections, which led to the couple's divorce.
Tuesday, Brenner took the stand, as prosecutors tried to establish a pattern of closeness between Rumpca's former wife, Kellie and Brenner before her divorce.
Phone records indicate in a period of a year and a half, the two talked up to 15 times a day at one point. Records also indicate Brenner spent on average 1 hour a day on the phone with Kellie, often first thing in the morning while he was in his office.
Brenner also admitted the two spent the night in a hotel suite to talk in July of 2009, while Kellie was still married.
Brenner says the two often talked about their kids and the break up of his marriage. Brenner is now married to Kellie.
