High profile 'alienation of affection' case goes to trial

Pennington County state's attorney Glenn Brenner is in court -- as a defendant, not a prosecutor.
Lamar Outdoor Advertising representative Doug Rumpca filed a civil lawsuit against Brenner that alleges the state's attorney "alienated" Rumpca's former wife, Kellie's, affections, and that led to the couple's divorce.

Brenner's attorneys argue the woman started a sexual relationship with another man (not Brenner) years before the divorce, because Rumpca was abusive, and that her feelings for Rumpca were long gone by the time Brenner came along.
Brenner is now married to Kellie. The trial continues Tuesday.
