Warm weather too much for ice rink

Sunday's wind and warm temperatures did not make for ideal ice skating weather.
Once again, the ice rink at Main Street Square closed because of the warm weather.

Maintenance crews at the square say a machine pumps a cooling fluid through the mats beneath the ice to keep it from melting on warmer days.

But temperatures in the upper 60's proved to be too warm even with the machine.
The good news is that the rink is usually good to go by late afternoon when it cools off.
