Forest fire ignites just outside of Rapid City

A U.S. Forest Service spokesman says a fire sparked near Victoria Lake Road in the Black Hills early Sunday morning.

The Commissary Point Fire burned about 21 acres before firefighters were able to contain it.
Scott Jacobsen with the Forest Service said he expects smoke from the fire to linger in the area for a few days.

Volunteer fire departments and the South Dakota Wildland Fire Suppression division are helping the Forest Service fight the fire.

Jacobson says the cause of the fire is unknown.
