It's the biggest effort of the KOTA Territory Care and Share Food Drive's 2012 winter season, the blue bag drop off!
Saturday, boy and girl scouts, along with other volunteer groups mapped out a game plan, loaded up with blue bags and canvassed KOTA Territory neighborhoods.
Next Saturday, the same groups will come by your door to retrieve the bags filled with non-perishable food items.
Scouts were especially happy about their duty Saturday. Last year blue bag drop off day was chilly to say the least.
"It doesn't get much better than today, the weather was perfect for us to get out in our neighborhoods and get a little exercise in and do good things and help out some people," says Pack 54 Leader Todd Mueller.
And even though hundreds of volunteers were out delivering one bag per home, You can still donate more.
"The blue bags are for you to help the food drive, and next week we're going to collect all the food and take it down to the food bank. They can put any bag out," says Cub Scout Trevor Mueller.
Volunteers of course couldn't make it to every home in town. So, if your house was missed, any sturdy bag will do. You can drop off your donations at Safeway, Family thrift, and Sam's Club.
