PIERRE, S.D. (AP) _ South Dakota Democrats say former Republican Gov. Mike Rounds is a nice person but the wrong man for the U.S. Senate.
Rounds has announced his intention to run in 2014 for the Senate seat held by Democrat Tim Johnson. Johnson says he had an excellent working relationship with Rounds during Rounds' eight years as governor and says, ``I welcome him to the race.''
Johnson hasn't formally announced his intention to seek a fourth term, but he says ``I feel great, still have work to do, and I fully intend to put together a winning campaign in the weeks and months ahead.''
State Democratic Party Chairman Ben Nesselhuf calls Rounds a ``nice guy with the wrong priorities for the U.S. Senate.''
