A man accused of beating another man to death with a bat has made a deal with the U.S. Attorney's Office.

21-year old Kyle Yankton has pled guilty to second degree murder Wednesday. In return for his guilty plea the U.S. Attorney's Office dropped two counts of first degree murder and is asking for him to serve between 23 and 30 years in prison.

June 30th Yankton picked his one–year old son up from his ex–girlfriend's house. He forcibly entered her home and beat her new boyfriend, 23–year old Pablo Galindo, multiple times in the head with a baseball bat killing him.

Yankton could face a maximum of life in prison and a $250,000 fine. He has no prior criminal history and was sober at the time of the murder.

A sentencing date has been set for April 1st.
