From getting full on turkey, to diving right into the sales of Black Friday, and now ice skating, music, and lights, the Holidays are in full swing.
And that feeling couldn't have been more present than at Main Street Square Saturday for the 2nd Annual Holiday Celebration.
There was Christmas cheer with holiday vendors, ice skaters, and a concert by the Potter family.
One of the highlights of all the festivities was the lighting of the massive 35 foot Christmas tree with the Mayor.
Megan Karbowski, Director of the square, says the 2nd annual event is a huge hit, "It's exceeded our expectations; we've expanded the event with our vendors and our space. The crowd size has been a lot larger at this time than it was last year. We also have Santa Claus visiting the square here shortly."
And Santa showed up right on time, escorted to the square by the Rapid City Fire Department, greeted instantly with hugs from excited children.
"Yes, yes, we were really excited, I'm really excited because I missed seeing him last year," says Land, Stanley, Kota, Bella, & Calvin. Just a few of the hundreds of excited children.
The 35 foot Colorado Blue Spruce tree was cut down by Baker Timber from our own Memorial Park.
