
This year's Festival of Lights Parade will take place on Saturday, Nov. 24 at 6 p.m. The parade will begin on East Boulevard and head west on Main Street to 7th Street. The parade will turn south on 7th Street, then turn east on St. Joseph Street back to East Boulevard. Many of the floats will continue on to the O'Hara Stadium parking lot.
The route will be shut down to through traffic in two intervals. The staging area, from East Boulevard to East St. Patrick Street, will be closed starting at 3:30 p.m. Due to construction in the area, floats are encouraged to enter the staging area from Maple Street, eastbound St. Patrick Street, or East Boulevard.
Beginning at 5:30 p.m., no through traffic will be allowed on Main Street from East Boulevard to 7th Street, and on St. Joseph Street from 7th to East Boulevard.
In addition, no parking will be allowed on St. Joseph Street and Main Street between 5th and 7th Streets. This includes 6th Street and 7th Street between Main and St. Joseph Streets. Police will begin limiting parking in this area at 3:30 p.m. Omaha Street and Mt. Rushmore Road will be open throughout the parade. Downtown visitors are asked to find alternate routes of travel during the parade.
