New Underwood teacher accused of rape requests holiday pass

A New Underwood teacher accused of having sex with one of his students wants to bend the conditions of his bond in order to take part in his family's Thanksgiving celebrations.
Kyle Keegan, 26, is charged with two counts of 4th degree rape, stemming from alleged sexual contact with a student between 13 and 16 years old.

As a condition of his bond, he is not allowed near anyone under the age of 18.

Monday, his attorneys asked Judge Janine Kern to lift the condition temporarily for the holiday.

Keegan's attorney says his client is having difficulty finding employment as a cashier because of the bond stipulation, which limits his interactions with the general public.
Judge Kern said she will lift the bond requirement for Thanksgiving, and will consider altering it further if he has a viable job offer.

Keegan faces 30 years in prison if convicted.
