30 Year tradition continues at YFS

A special thanksgiving meal with a long standing tradition continues today.

Children enrolled with the youth and family services programs were invited to bring family and friends to the YFS harvest meal".

Community volunteers and staff from Youth & Family services were up early preparing meals for 3 different feasts that took place throughout the day.

The menu consisted of 30 turkey roasts and enough food to feed as many as 860 people.

YFS nutrition director Darcie Decker says it's the kids that won today getting the opportunity to have a nice meal with family & friends, "As you look around you can see a lot of children smiling and delighted to have their parent, grandparent dining with them today...that's wonderful."

This is the 30th year that YFS has sponsored the meal.
