World renowned author helps support local charity

A world renowned author makes his way to rapid city to help a local charity.

Dave Pelzer author of the infamous autobiography A Child Called It was at the Ramkota in Rapid City Tuesday for a book sale, signing, and presentation.

Pelzer has written numerous best selling self help books and is a known advocate against child abuse.

Mary Corbine Executive Director of Working Against Violence Inc. or WAVI, says it's a great and moving fundraiser.

"Anything helps, he is volunteering his time, 100% of the proceeds will go to WAVI, we have a pretty good pre-registration and we expect to have quite a few walk-ins," says Corbine.

WAVI, through support services and shelter, helps victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
