Local blind man gets to Nashville making music; sister writes book

A local man isn't letting his disability define him or his talents.
That's why Rory Hoffman's sister, Konnie Hoffman, who is also blind, decided to write a book about him.

The book, which just hit the shelves, tells the story of her brother's journey to Nashville for his blossoming career in music.

Hoffman says her brother was the third of four blind children who began as a drummer in the family band before going on to become a multi-instrumentalist and a two time winner of the ICMA Musician of the Year Award.

"If you have a dream, go for it, don't let anything stop you, and that's really the message that I hope my readers get from my book, and I just hope that buy it," says Author, Konnie Hoffman.

Hoffman says she hopes to write a series of books on how people with inconveniences can thrive in a world of opportunity.
