
A homeless Rapid City man is accused of raping a stranger at knife point under the Roosevelt Bridge on the bike path.
An emergency room nurse and a DNA expert from Pierre testified in court today against Anthony Joyner, 29.
The victim alleges on July 5, 2012 at 9:00 AM on she asked Joyner for directions from the Mission to the Dakota Rose hotel.
She told police he then followed her, pulled a knife threatened her and raped her.
After the alleged rape the woman saw a police officer and ran to tell him what happened.
Joyner was arrested that day and is charged with first degree rape and aggravated assault.
State's Attorney Scott Roetzel said Joyner was born in Alabama and has no criminal record.
