Across KOTA territory, gas prices have dropped between $0.10 and $0.40/gallon in the last month.
According to AAA's latest fuel gauge report, Sheridan has seen some of the smallest drops.
Right now the cheapest gas in the city is $3.63/gallon for regular grade. This is nine cents higher than the current national average, which is sitting at $3.54/gallon.
Sheridan residents say they feel the current price is not only too high, but potentially due to this being an election year.
"I think the biggest thing is lack of refineries. I mean we have the oil in this country, but I think the election has something to do with it," said Sheridan resident Vernon Sandau.
Another resident, Christine Hess, says "It's getting kind of out of hand. I had to rent a car because we have a diesel truck and there's no way I could've afforded the diesel to pick up my grandson in Nebraska."
In other KOTA territories, South Dakota's current average is $3.53/gallon, which is 32 cents less than a month ago.
