A Rapid City water park resort looks to expand its facility to compete with similar resorts nationally.
Isis Hospitality plans to double the size of its WaTiki Indoor Waterpark on North Elk Vale Road. The 30,000 square feet water park resort will expand to 70,000 square feet once the multi-million dollar expansion project begins next April.
The renovated resort will feature a new ride, an indoor hot tub and a pool bar. Isis hospitality will also build a new 145 room Residence Inn by Marriott.
"In addition, the Residence Inn will have a conference center that will be able to house up to 400 people for a banquet or conference," said Chief Executive Officer, Caleb Arceneaux. "Additionally, the new water park will feature a brand new arcade and retail are to service our guests."
Arceneaux says he's hopeful the new additions will help the resort compete on a national level. The project is expected to wrap-up by summer 2014.
