A haunted house in Rapid City that's been scaring the ba–jeebers out of people for over a decade is calling it quits.
After 12 years, October 31st will be the last night for "Mayhem on Mary Drive."
Creator, Tom Berger says the main reason for closing is because his son is headed off to college. His son was the reason the haunted house started, and he was a huge helping hand in running it. Berger says it takes eight to ten hours a day for weeks in advance to get ready for their two nights of terror.
"Well last year we had 1000 people come through. So, this year we're anticipating to break that record because we're open for two nights and the weather is going to be gorgeous. The bottom line is, it's for fun and it's for charity," says Berger.
Admission cost is two cans of food or $1. The proceeds will be donated to the Cornerstone Rescue Mission, the Food Bank and Old Mother Hubbard's Cupboard.
