Fatal collision leaves one dead in St. Onge

A St. Onge woman is dead following a four vehicle crash that took place on Friday.

According to the South Dakota Highway Patrol, Quinn Kokesch, 23, pulled out from a stop sign at the intersection of Center and Highway 34, into the path of a semi. The driver of the semi, Martin Olson, 38, of Miller, SD was uninjured.

Two other vehicles also collided with the semi-truck as it began sliding on the roadway. The drivers of those vehicles: Leon Thurston, 56, of St. Onge, and Bryce Nordlee, 32, of Rapid City were both uninjured.

SD 34 was closed for several hours due to the crash investigation.
