A new company is laying down the pipe work for new jobs in Rapid City.
W L Plastics, a pipe manufacturing company officially broke ground this morning on its new location in Rapid City.
The company will produce pipeline for the western North Dakota oil fields in its 45,000 square foot facility and hire 40 workers.
The groundbreaking is important for the area because of the quality of the jobs.
"It's exciting whenever we pull a building permit that's industrial in nature. Because that represents a year round job. And those are good jobs. They are high skilled jobs, year round jobs. So that's the biggest thing is that payroll and having that industrial building being constructed here," said Benjamin Snow, President of the Rapid City Economic Development.
W L plastics expects to open and start manufacturing pipes by June of next year.
