Rapid City's East North street is booming with renovations and new business.
First National Pawn is opening a new location on the 900 block. The pawn shop will open in early December. It replaces the old Budget Inn Motel.
Ward 4 Aldermen John Roberts says the recent street construction has helped entice businesses to open and renovate on East North street.
"With the new infrastructure, new road,water sewer, everything is starting to pick up here. As you rebuild the road, revitalize, business comes in," said Roberts.
And just months after Burger King completed its renovation, the McDonalds on East North street is also undergoing an extensive facelift.
While the drive through is still open, the restaurant portion is closed for re-tiling. You can expect to see new counters tops and flooring.
Outside, the cement paving and siding is also being re-done.
