An accident on Interstate 90 sent two people to the hospital Wednesday morning and closed the interstate for about four hours.
The accident involved a semi-truck and a small SUV near Tilford.
South Dakota Highway Patrol Lieutenant Rick Miller says the car crossed over the median into the west bound lane hitting the semi truck. He says currently they believe the accident was not related to the weather, but it is still under investigation.
Rescue workers say they had to rip the car apart to get two people out.
The semi-truck driver was unhurt but the driver and passenger of the car were both taken to the Rapid City Regional Hospital.
Interstate 90 reopened around 2:00 PM Wednesday afternoon.
