Police dogs, gourmet cuisine and cutting edge machinery. All were on display Tuesday, for the benefit of Rapid City Academy students.

The 5th annual Careers in Action conference introduces students to nine career industries with the help of professionals, and business owners lending their expertise. More than 25 community partners also contributed their time to the fair.

With lectures conducted by the police department, Rapid City Rush marketing team and Black Hills power- to name a few- students were able to start identifying which fields they like, and what they need to get there.

"[They] start planning, thinking about it, what are the different colleges that offer what you want? Is it a 2 year, or 4 year program? Is there on the job training? So they get a lot of answers," said Carla Allard, Director of the Learning Zone.

The fair was sponsored by the Black Hills Special Services Cooperative, with Partnership Rapid City and the Rapid City area schools.

More than 400 students attended Tuesdays career fair.
