Weekend motorcycle accident leaves one man dead


One man is dead and two others injured after a weekend crash involving two motorcycles.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol says Terry Hislop, 47 of Rapid City was killed on Saturday on Highway 44, just east of Johnson Siding.

Hislop was driving his Harley eastbound when he swerved to miss a deer.

The motorcycle hit a guardrail.

Both Hislop and a passenger, Cheryl Daigle, 35 of Rapid City, were thrown from the bike.

Hislop died at the scene.

Daigle received life-threatening injuries.

Christopher Gabbard, 29 of Rapid City was following the first motorcycle and received serious injuries after he braked and put his bike on its side.
