Following up on a story KOTA Territory first brought to you earlier in the month, the Mayor's challenge for breast cancer continues on.

Eleven cities were challenged by the Mayor of Pierre in a fundraising competition, with all proceeds going to breast cancer research.

On Saturday Main Street Square went pink, with live music, vendors, and more to aid in fundraising efforts.

Katie Parker, who's in charge of Rapid City's fundraising says she's confident Rapid City will reach it's goal of $3500 by the end of the month.

"All the funds from these events really do go towards research, providing materials to people, you know the current statistic is one in every two women diagnosed with breast cancer reaches out to the American Cancer Society," says Parker.

Currently Yankon is in first place, Iroquois in second, and Rapid City in third place.
