Construction on the Pennington County Courthouse expansion is ahead of schedule.
The new 23,000 square foot evidence building was supposed to be finished by the end of January, but the project is moving along faster than expected. According to Project Manager Mike Kuhl, the shell of the building is almost complete, and windows should be going in shortly.
Kuhl says in January evidence will probably be transferred to the new building, and construction of the 100,000 square foot administration building will begin.
Geothermal wells will be put in place so the buildings can be heated and cooled more efficiently.
