A man that started a small riot in a Seventh Circuit court room last month is facing new charges.
Nineteen-year- old John Shaw can add the misdemeanor charge of destruction of property to his rap sheet. The Pennington County Sheriff's Office has issued a warrant on those charges, following Shaw's outburst in court on September 28th.
He rammed a courthouse door, breaking the glass after he was sentenced to 50 years in prison for shooting at a moving vehicle.
Because the damages are less than $500, Lieutenant Marty Graves says the state might decline the prosecution since Shaw is already going to prison.
Graves says the state should make a decision sometime this week.
