Charles "Eddie" Clay is laid to rest

On Monday, KOTA Territory lays to rest a true community leader.

The funeral of Charles "Eddie" Clay of Hot Springs was held Monday morning at the Mueller Center in Hot Springs.

Family, friends, and community members remembered and honored the man so many admired. Clay died Thursday after suffering a heart attack Wednesday.

Eddie was born in Missouri in 1922, but moved to South Dakota in the '40's.

He is credited with making the Mammoth Site a world-class research facility and a popular tourist site.

Eddie and his wife Clara owned and operated Fall River Abstract for 43 years.
