Search under way for missing state inmate from Rapid City

(Rapid City, S.D.)- A search is under way for a missing state prison inmate from the Rapid City Minimum Unit.

Inmate Jeremy Phelps wasn't at his work release job site when it was checked Monday.

Phelps, age 25, is a Native American male. He is 5-feet-9 inches tall and weighs approximately 190 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.

Phelps is serving a 4 year sentence for Possession of a Controlled Substance out of Brookings County.

Anyone who sees Phelps or knows of his whereabouts should contact law enforcement immediately.
