It's not Oktoberfest, but a German-themed party kicks off Rapid City's Main Street Square's second year of being open to the public.
Teaming up with the Rushmore German Club, Main Street Square put on the second-annual Bierborse festival Saturday, featuring more than 60 beers for the tasting, including samples from some local breweries.
The Family Thrift Center also provided brats to the hungry patrons to support the Care and Share food drive.
Organizers say the celebration holds even more significance for them than just celebrating German culture.
"This weekend is twice as special for Main Street Square," said Square executive director Megan Karbowski. "Not only is it the first time we've had a second-annual event, it is our anniversary weekend. October 7 we took the fence down last year."
And to celebrate, everyone raised their cups and miniature tasting glasses and toasted the anniversary.
