Candlelight vigil set for murder victim

A candlelight vigil is planned Thursday night in Hot Springs for a woman who disappeared a year ago.

Catherine Tornquist, 56, was reported missing on October 5, 2011. In the months following, law enforcement aided in multiple ground searches. Vigil organizers believe she was killed last October 4, 2011 by her son.

In July, Matthew Tornquist, 26, was arraigned on murder charges. He also faces a grand theft charge in connection with the murder. Another hearing date in circuit court has yet to be set.

If convicted he could face the death penalty or life in prison.
