Man pleads not guilty to assaulting KOTA reporter

A Rapid City man accused of assaulting a KOTA territory news reporter with a knife pleads not guilty.
Katy Urban was recording video of musical acts during the last day of the downtown Summer Nights festival when she says Damian New Holy, 36, approached her with a knife.

Monday, New Holy was formally charged with one count of aggravated assault.

He faces 15 years in prison and a $30,000 fine.

Judge Janine Kern, who arraigned New Holy, immediately removed herself from the case because she has worked with Urban in the past.
A new judge will be assigned to the case in the coming weeks.
