Raven industries, holds a ribbon cutting ceremony today for their new Rapid City research and development facility in the Black Hills Business Development Center.
The company was founded in 1956 to aid in the research for space exploration.
Today it's a publicly traded corporation that researches and builds high tech and applied science products.
Raven will have three full time and six part time employees operating out of the new office.
With the opening of the Rapid City facility, Raven will have 19 North American locations.
