Hill City couple receive award for philanthropy

Posted:

Those who go above and beyond to help others are recognized today.

It was all part of South Dakota's National Philanthropy Day awards where Gov. Dennis Daugaard presented Hill City's Erv and DeMaris Neishim with the "outstanding philanthropists" award.

They provide funding and hard work for charities.

For the couple the award represents their efforts of trying to make a difference.

"Well we're just trying to help worthy organizations serve both adults and children. Just trying to make this world a little better," said DeMaris Neishim.

Other winners included Black Hills Power, the Rushmore Rotary club, and the community of Wall.
