Rapid City Mayor appoints Parks & Recreation Director

Mayor Sam Kooiker has nominated Jeffrey Biegler to serve as Director for the Parks and Recreation Department.

Biegler will assume his duties as Director of Parks & Recreation on Dec. 1, pending confirmation by the City Council. The confirmation vote is scheduled for Monday, October 1.

Biegler most recently served as the City of Troy, Michigan since 1998, in the position of Superintendent of Parks and most recently as Recreation Director.

Biegler grew up in Rapid City, and graduated from Rapid City Central High School before earning his bachelor's degree in management from Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston, Idaho. He is certified by the National Recreation and Parks Association as a Parks and Recreation Professional and a certified Playground Safety Inspector.
