Hundreds of Geoscientists from around the globe gather in Rapid City for a five day conference put on by the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology.
The seminar theme is "Geology and natural resources of the Black Hills and adjoining basins."
Since the school of mines focuses on both Geology and Oil and Gas studies, they combined their Annual Oil and Gas Conference, with the American Institute of Professional Geologists Conference.
"It brings together Geoscientists from across the Nation to share information and ideas," says Foster Sawyer, and Assistant Professor with the School of Mines.
He also says it's an opportunity for their students to network with other professionals in the industry.
