Saturday people had a chance to see how Pennington County's Search and Rescue team saves lives.
At their 23rd Annual Open House, locals get to check out the gear used to do the job, and see how their donations are spent.
As part of the open house, the team did vertical rescue demonstrations and car extrications.
"It's a fun event that we like the citizens in Rapid City and Pennington County to come see. Most people are surprised at the amount of equipment that we have and equipment that it takes to do all the rescue work that we do in our community," says Team Leader Richard Lehmann.
The Search and Rescue Team even has two Snow Cats, which are tracked vehicles that can drive on snow for winter rescues.
