An attempted robbery at a Rapid City pawn shop lands a local juvenile at Regional West. According to Rapid City Police Public Relations Specialist Tarah Heupel, a 16-year-old boy broke Fair Deal Pawn's front door with a baseball bat and demanded that a store employee give him a gun, so he could kill himself.
When the employee refused, the teen picked up a saw blade and threatened to hurt himself. By the time police arrived he had dropped the blade, but was holding a baseball bat and refused to put it down. Officers tased the teen one time. He dropped the bat and was taken to Regional West.
