In the Northern Hills volunteers and sponsors made Thursday- a day of caring.
It was the United Way of the Northern Hills fall fundraising campaign kickoff, in addition to the group's very first "day of caring".
46 volunteers took to six different sites over Spearfish reminding the community of the importance the United Way provides in the area.
"It's just been so exciting. The people in the Northern Hills have stepped up. The volunteers and sponsors alike have really said 'let's do this, let's get out in our community and help some people out and really make a special day of it," said Lauren Dahl, United Way of the Northern Hills Board President.
The Northern Hills branch of the United Way intends to make Thursday's actions an annual event.
The United Way of the Northern Hills has a fundraising goal of 160 thousand dollars for the fall season.
