Governor Dennis Daugaard declared Wednesday as "No Texting While Driving Day."
AT&T says the Governor has joined their "It Can Wait" campaign, aimed at keeping drivers off their phones while driving.
Area Retail Sales Manager for AT&T Patrick Caskey says today in their store on Lacrosse they are encouraging customers and employees to make the pledge not to text and drive.
"We donated five thousand dollars locally to the South Dakota Safety Council to help teens understand the decisions they make while texting and driving, again to tie into the "It can wait" campaign," says Caskey.
AT&T plans to invest tens of millions of dollars into their campaign during 2012 and in the years to come.
