Rapid city's original Walmart store will be undergoing a facelift.
Now that the second Walmart location has opened, an eight week renovation project will begin at the lacrosse street location.
You can expect to see new colors and signage on the exterior and a brightened
interior.
Managers say the trademark blue exterior may change to include 'earth tones'.
You can expect to see new signage over the deli and grocery area. The bathroom and checkout areas will also undergo a facelift.
The Walmart was last renovated in 2005, and managers say their construction schedule shouldn't interfere with customer shopping.
"If we
think there's going to be something disruptive, that will happen at overnight, although customers will notice some activities in departments are we go around and refresh them," said Manager Mark Haberman.
Haberman says since the south side Walmart opened, he has seem less traffic, and its been a welcome relief to his associates and customers.
