Hunters should use extra caution due to high fire dangers

Posted:

Fall is just days away, but that doesn't mean fire danger isn't a concern, especially with hunters hitting the fields.

Bullets that ricochet off of rocks and vehicles that travel off–road, add fuel to what are already dangerous conditions on the prairies.

Conservation Officer Adam Geigle says hunters need to be extra careful this year.

"It's really important for hunters to stay on the main roads, like black top roads and gravel roads and walk as much as possible so we don't have any prairie fires starting," says Geigle.
