SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) _ A state inspection of the Minnehaha County Detoxification Center found problems that require immediate action, and the county will be required to file a plan to correct other issues.
The Argus Leader reports (argusne.ws/RaFOtm) that state regulators interviewed more than 20 staff members at the facility last week amid allegations of safety problems for staff and patients at the 16-bed facility.
State Department of Social Services spokeswoman Amy Iverson-Pollreisz says the inspection turned up practices that conflict with the department's administrative rules. She says some involve the documenting of vital signs for patients and tuberculosis testing.
She says problems also were found with documenting medicines dispensed to patients. A final inspection report is expected in about two weeks.
